My gerbils barely eat and dont drink their water

Question
My gerbil's, Lil' Bo and Poop, barely eat. I know they have small stomaches, but most gerbil's eat at least 1 or 2 times a day. They only eat 1 sunflower seed a day. Is this good? They don't drink their water either. Is this good?

Answer
Hello, with them not eating and drinking something is not good. Try and pinch a fold of their skin, if the fold goes back to normal than they aren't dehydrated but if the fold stays a fold then I really suggest that you force feed them water as they are dehydrated. The way I force feed small animals water is I get a dropper and place the dropper in their mouth and slowly give them water. They hate it but they need it. How is their activity level? Are they huddled together in a corner shaking? I really think you should take them to a vet to get looked at because them not drinking is really my main concern as small aniamls get dehydrated very easily. Not eating and not drinking is generally a sure sign of sickness, did you check the water bottle to make sure they can get water from it? Sometimes the water bottles stop up and they can't drink. Keep me updated on how things go.
