gerbils shedding

My gerbil is shedding alot. I was wondering if it is natrual if gerbils shed in the fall?

gerbils can shed a little bit, but if your gerbil is going bald then it's probably a skin irritation that is causing your gerbil to shed. what type of bedding are you using?? Sometimes they can have skin sensitivities to wood shavings and you could try switching to a bedding that isn't made of wood shavings like carefresh or soft-sorbent bedding. if the gerbil is shedding and scratching constantly, check their fur for signs of any bugs. If you are really worried about the gerbil then the vet would be the best place to go for treatment. good luck
