fat or skinny??

Question
What if you have top female hamsters and one is 2 years old and is too fat to go on the wheel and stay on and the other 1 year old is very skinny and it looks like it might wear itself out because it runs on the wheel to often?

Hi, hamsters do get quite lazy as they get older and run on the wheel less than younger ones so you will probably find that as "skinny" gets older she will use it less. some love the wheel and others prefer to hang form the bars of the cage and others simply like to sit and eat!! so dont be worried that they are so very different its quite normal and dont get rid of the wheel as it wont do her any harm. you might want to find another way to exercise "fatty" maybe make a maze or get an exercise ball to help her slim down!! hope this helps, Jen
