Question
I would like to know if 2 older panda hamsters can stay in the cage together and if a femal hamater cam reproduce by itself

Answer
Hi Sierra,

Panda hamsters (formally known as Syrian hamsters) are solitary animals, and should never live together as adults.  (Basically, once they are 6 weeks old, they should be separated.)  They do not get along with other hamsters.  If you were to place 2 adults in one cage, they would fight violently, and one of the hamsters would most likely die.  So, you'll need to keep them separate.

Female hamsters, like any other mammal, need males to reproduce.  The female should be around the ages of 4-6 months, and she should be in heat before she mates.  Place the female in the male's cage (not the other way around), and let them mate for about 15 minutes, or until they've lost interest.

Have a great weekend!

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask :)
