do hamsters reproduce with their sisters or brothers?

i'm wondering if hamsters will breed with their brothers or sisters.

Hi Gregorio,

if a brother and sister are left in the same cage together after they are about two months old then then the female will usually become pregnant very soon after.

A brother and sister will mate and produce young if allowed to but you should not allow them too!!  Many problems can occur when breeding closely related hamsters, so please separate any mixed sex pairs you have if they are realated.
