Ferrets dying

Hi my name is Lisa and my boyfriend and I had purchased a ferret about over 3 yrs ago... We had to down size to a smaill apartment plus we both didn't have the time for our ferret CHEECH. We had to give him up! I knew a guy at work that was looking to but a ferret... as word got around I had asked him if he wanted one for free... he said he has two of them now but his mother wanted one. I had gave up our ferret to him to give to his mother that wasn't working so she would be able to spend alot of time with him. 45 days go by and I now found out that last week he died?????? I found out that the qwomen woke up and he was not moving in his cage (LATER) to check on him again - he was still just laying there. She had called her son and Cheech was dead????????? He said he had passed in his sleep tucket into the blanket ?????????? I was the one how had gave him away.... So I feel like it's my fault!!! :( My boyfriend thinks they are lieing about and something else had happened? What do you think had happened if he did fall asleep and dead... when the day before and was happy and playfull?????????????????????/

Hello i can say it could have been...he ate something like chocolate or maybe chewed a toy and got something off it that he shouldnt swollowed it and got it lodged intenally or possibly swollowed something pointy and it cut his insides casuing him to bleed to death unnoticed...it is very odd for something like this to happen out of thr blue if they were to get the ferret a otopsy this would reveil why he died so suddenly
