Question
i have a male 1 year old ferret, hes been neuted, and been the perfect pet, until about 2 weeks ago,i give him lots of attention and he snuggles up to me and lets me stoke him, but when i stroke him after a while he starts to grab at my hand with his claws and bite down on my hand,if i leave my hand there he gets harder, i push him away, or put him in time out, or just ignour him, he just goes away, he just does this to me not my 3year old or my husband?

Answer
Generally, ferrets don't like to sit still for very long especially at such a young age.  Somewhere along the line he has learned that you will play rough with him if he bites and he likes that game.  I would pay attention to how long he will enjoy being petted then stop before he gets nippy.  Once he gets nippy, you are done giving him attention.  He is looking to play with you on his terms, teach him some human friendly games that do not involve biting.
