My ferret is eating much more than usual...

Hi, I have had my albino ferret for 3 years now. I've always noted that she eats more than usual during this time of the year (seems to prepare for winter).  However, it seems like she's eating twice as much or even more than she normally does.  Do you think i should be worried?  

Also, due to her sensitive red eyes, her eyes produce dirt several times a year, however, at the moment she has had this for a month, so am worried too.  

Unfortunately i feel that vets in my country don't have enough knowledge about ferrets, which is very frustrating.

Hi

Don;t worry about overeating - that's normal.  As far as her eyes are concerned, you can gentle wipe them with clean wet cloth daily to keeep them clear of dirt. Be sure to wipe away from the nose very gently.  Best of luck.
