Question
How do you recomend me go about training my dogs,
( 4y.o.JRT,3y.o.Boxer/lab,6mo.old saint and 3mo.old saint) to go poo in the same spot so it would be easier to find it all? We have a giant yard with some tall grass it makes it very difficult. What do you think about cedar chips? Thank you.

Answer
Hi Robbin,

You could create an invisible fence around the area that you want the dogs to use for there play and bathroom. The tall grass area would then become off limits. To do this, place small flags about 2 feet apart around the area that they can be in. Walk them around the flags on a loose leash. When they cross the barrier, say "NO" and correct them. Repeat this for several days and anytime they stray past the barrier, correct them immediately. Since you have multiple dogs, pay particular attention to getting the lead dog to comply with the boundaries.

Gradually, over weeks, remove the flags one by one. Maybe take 2 flags out per week until they are all gone. Your dogs should still honor the invisible barrier and remain in the part of the yard that you designate for them.

Another alternative would be to get some binoculars and look out into the tall grass where the flies gather. There you'll find your poop. (just joking-:).

Good Luck!
Sandy
