Question
How do I cure my dogs from eating manure and dead animal remains?  I have a corgi and a beagle/terrior/lab mix, both females (mix is fixed and the corgi is not fixed, not sure if this matters).  Our corgi also rolls in urine all the time...please help.  They both just had a case of tapeworms and the vet said it was due to them eating dead animals...they won't stop...they also chew on my newly planted shrubs...is there a cure for that...thanks

Answer
If you figure it out, please let me know! Honestly, the only thing I know is supervision and not allowing them access to these things. Dogs are naturally scavengers. They love to eat disgusting (to us) stuff and decorate themselves in scents we may not find as lovely as they do. If you are with them, you can teach them a good "leave it" cue (where they will move away from something when you ask them to). If they are on their own, dogs will be dogs! Sorry I can't be more helpful. Sandy Case MEd CPDT www.positivelycanine.com
