Crating Two Dogs

Question
We currently have one dog about 1.5 years old.  He is crated during the day while we are at work because he gets bored and chews stuff when left out.  We are getting another dog that is about 8 months old and potty trained.  We will need to crate him during the day as well, as least for a little while.  How would you recommend crating both dogs.  Should the crates be on separate floors of the house?  Separate rooms?  Any advice?

Thanks.

Answer
If the dogs get along well, put the crates near each other. First, I would provide enough chew toys or rawhides for the current dog to keep occupied so it doesn't chew other stuff. Get some treat puzzle toys.
