Dog Excape Artist

My 5 year old wheaten does everything in her power to escape the house if I leave her alone. She has a doggy door so she can enter the backyard but I keep having to build the fence higher and higher as she whimpers and moans until she successfully clears some part of the 6' fence. How can I make her wait patiently for me at home? She is not left alone for long.

If she's not left alone for long, is there some reason why the doggie door can't be locked so that she can't get outside?  If you have no control over what she's doing in the yard when you're gone, then I would not leave her out there.
