Question
Hi, Last November I rescued a Bishon Frise from a pound. The people told the pound they had to get rid of him b/c they were loosing their house and moving to a nonpet place. Well occassionally he will pee on my bed. So I show it to him scold him (tell him NO sternly go potty outside) and put him out. But he continues to do it. He will go outside then come in and while I am getting ready for work or talking on the phone or who knows when he goes sometimes I find my bed all wet. This morning he was trying to get up on the table so I put him in the bathroom that I keep him in while I am at work or gone. He peed in my bathroom this morning. Why is he doing this and how do I keep him from peeing when he gets mad at me or doesnt think he is getting enough attention. He is 6 and should know not to do this. Also I took him camping and he peed on my kitchen table. I put him in timeout(in my bathroom) let him back out when he peed again ON THE KITCHEN TABLE. what is the problem? Thanks Amy

Answer
Amy,

First make a vet appointment and be sure he has no medical issues for not being able to hold it.
I would start using a crate and get him crate trained so you can control most of his actions, when you can not watch him 100 percent he should be put in a safe place.
Next: Put him on a strick potty schedule, so he is having access to the outside a lot to get the idea that is where he needs to go. This is not a simple solution it will take some time and effort to get him to understand that his behavior is not wanted.
