My 2 year old mini long haired daschund has a terrible habit of licking people, preferably in the face! I tried clicker training for basic obedience at 1 year of age but felt she was getting too many treats and still did not pay attention if there were any distractions. She is obsessed with this behavior.

Go back to obedience class and practice OFF, and LEAVE IT. Personally, I like dogs to like my face, cats too. Its a sign of affection. It stems from the habit of grooming themselves and other critters.
