Question
IU have a little male Shih Tzu that lately has been eating his own feces. I am at a loss to know why he is doing this. Is he hungry? Is this common? How do I deal with this? Unless we are standing roight there and clean it up he does it his way. Help!

Answer
Your dog eats his feaces becuase he either has stomach ache or doesn't digest the food well, so he views it as food.
To stop this you have to change his dog food, buy stomach worm pills and give him the pills according to instructions. Also you should pour cheyenne pepper on his feaces, let him eat it, and he will probably never eat it again; not all dogs dislike cheyenne pepper, so this might not work.
If your dog is a puppy this would be a faze that he will grow out of.
Good luck...
