how to help my 4yr old shitzu except 2mo. old shitzu

I have 4 yr old male shitzu he is not fixed if that makes a diffrence, I don't know.  We just got a 2 month old male shitzu given to us.  I would like them to become friends and playmates.  My 4yr old will play with the baby in short intervals.  then he dosen't want anythig to do with him.  He will even growl and nip at the baby.  How can I make this transition as easy as possibal for both.  I don't want my first baby thinking he's been replaced.

Hi Lori,
what is going on right now is normal.  the pup will want to play more than the adult male will.  when the adult gets annoyed, he will let the puppy know.  I would separate them a few hours a day to give the adult a rest, the fact that he plays with him at all, is very encouraging.  I think all will be ok in time.
