QuestionOur 10 y/o Rottie/Ausis Shepherd mix, adopted 3 mo ago from local shelter, spayed, whips her head back and forth like Stevie Wonder when she is happy and excited, ie before her daily long walk. Is this a herding behavior?
AnswerDear Kate,
Thanks for the question. If she scratches her ears or does it when she is just hanging around the house, I'd get a vet to check out her ears. If it only happens when she is happy and excited, I'm guessing it's just her way of celebrating with joy! I'm not familiar with any head shaking as a herding-specific behavior. Thanks
