Maltese pup

Hi,
I am considering buying a maltese puppy, and was wondering if they can go for
walks outside without being on a leash. However, if this isn't possible, do you
have any suggestations of how to train him not to run off while not on leash?

I do not recommend taking your dog for a walk without a leash. I also do not recommend letting your dog be off leash in your yard unless your yard is fenced.
