Dog has diarreah -

My 7 year old poodle has had diarrhea for 2 days and a little vomiting yet he is active and playing. He hasn't eaten. What can I do do help his diarrhea. Can I give him a pepcid?

Hi Linda,

Thank you for writing to me.  If your dog isn't drinking water then he needs to be rushed to emergency.  Dehydration is extremely serious.  If he is still drinking water then do not feed him for 24 hrs. After that amount of time give him white rice thoroughly cooked with a pince of boiled chop meat and a cup of mashed sweet potato.  This should help his condition.

If after following these steps, he doesn't improve, it's time to get him to the vet as soon as possible.
