my dog has been having a period for nearly 2wks and her underneath is very swollen is this natural or does she need to see vet.

Dogs have heat cycles normally twice per year , or every six months on average. Again on average their heat cycle lasts for approximately three weeks/21 days. During this time they are attractive to male dogs,can be bred and become pregnant. In order to prevent pregnancy have your girl spayed as soon as her cycle is over.
