Question
I have a 17 year old lab/shepard mix. We have taken my dog pepper in to the vet and found that she has pnemoneia.  she hasnt ate in the last 4 days and she needs to in order to get better. what do you recommend for us to try and feed her or how to get her to eat?

Answer
Try lots of liquids, unsalted chicken broth, plain all natural yogurt or cottage cheese, sardines, jack mackeral, tuna, browned hamburger or turkey, even canned cat food it's gross but will sometimes spark some interest. Make sure she's getting fifteen hundred mgs of vit c broken into three five hundred mg doses per day, vitamin E, B complex, flax seed oil to boost her immune system and help with her appetite. Baked or broiled fish of ANY kind is usually a good appetite stimulant and is a GREAT source of protein, eggs, fully cooked, most sick dogs prefer scrambled. Baked ham, try offering her lots and lots of small meals per day. Every little bit helps, try peanut butter, if she loves it,make her thing sandwhiches that are easy for her to eat, cut them into small pieces. Brown long grained rice cooked in unsalted chicken broth
