What kind of dog do you recommend?

Question
Hi, I just want your opinion on what kind of dog you think I would do best with.

Any dog smaller than 60lbs is out of the question. I would prefer if it looked as close to a Wolf as possible but the personality matters more. I would like a strong, courageous, loyal, obedient, companion who will be able to travel outdoors with me in Japan and bond with just me, no one else.

I was thinking Husky, but they are too friendly towards strangers, and small. I thought maybe a German Shepherd but I don't like them. Akitas are too aggressive and do not look enough like a Wolf, I can't stand the way dogs look, I love the Wolf's look. A Wolf is too pack oriented and needs a family, also they don't do well on or off leashes, or listen to commands, and they are a bit skittish. Don't get me wrong I love all dogs especially the ones listed above, but they are not for me nor my lifestyle. I am just trying to explain what I am looking for in my perfect dog. If you have any idea what kind or mixed breed is best for me just let me know, I will spend as long as if takes looking for the right one.

Answer
Try an Alaskan Malamute, they are between 80-110 pounds and are brave and protective dogs,as well as looking a lot like a wolf, and in fact are often used in movies or tv shows,so this is the breed I would look into, and they are also closely related to wolves, and also have an independent streak, but also obedient and loves outdoors

There's also a breed called a Canadian Eskimo Dog and it looks VERY wolf like and is also independent, pretty much the same as the Malamute

Also Dingoes are kept as pets by some people, and are the closest breed to a wolf, but can be VERY hard to train,as they are wild in Australia-but some people have had great success in taming them, and they too only tend to like one person

Although they don't look anything like a wolf,Rottweilers also fit that description, they are protective, smart and will go anywhere with you,and are also in the right size range for you-they have pretty much what you are looking for, except they don't look like a wolf

There are wolf hybrids, but they can be extremely unpredictable and dangerous and have even killed there owners,so you probably want to avoid them altogether and get a breed that looks like a wolf instead

Also various crosses could look like wolves, like I have seen Husky/collie crosses that look A LOT like wolves
