Question
Hi i adopted my female spayed 3 yr old from the pound when she was 5 weeks old. She was always very healthy and happy till she hit about 11 months old. She started to get sick...she would vomit and have watery stool. Then it got really bad and at the time i was pregnant. I worked at a vet for 4 years at that time too and i had to go to another vet to find more answers for her. Both places had no idea what was wrong with her, mainly because the cost was outrageous and i in no way could afford to do an ultrasound or endoscopy. Her symptoms are weird. She also goes in and out of the episodes too. She has this watery dark stool on and off for 2 years now and she will vomit as well, the vomit is foamy...yellow and also crystal-like blood spots are present too. She has hip dysplasia too. she is very anxious!! my son is rough with her and she hates it, she will growl at him and even snap at him if shes mad enough. But she never feels good, there will be a month she will be fine but then 3 that shes like this. i have spent so much money on tryin to find out what is wrong with her. They gave me prednisone because that was the last resort, she was either gunna waste away or she was gunna respond positively to the pred. which she did. But i am having a hard time financially and oh course i get a dog that has all these problems. So she has no more meds and shes sick again. I am just really upset bc she has to be this way bc no one can figure it out. Sometimes the pills dont work ya know. She won't eat when she gets this way, she will drink some tho. She will go to the door every 30 seconds at night it seems like. She pukes everywhere in the house because it seems like she doesnt even know when she will throw up. She is always squatting to pass stool and its always watery blood and muscus and all that lovely stuff. I have come to the point where i want to find another family for her that can actually afford to help her get better because if not she will just waste away here. I was wondering if you knew about any of these symptoms and maybe if there were any kind of places you may know of who help dogs like abbey. Thank you.

Answer
Abby this is beyond me. A vet is her only hope. Find a no kill shelter or rescue that will take her They will deal with her health issues. I wish I could be of more help. In your google search engine type in no kill shelters in (Fill in the name of your city, county or state). You can do the same with rescue organizations. Meanwhile, do try some behavior modification with your son to stop him from tormenting her, and never leave them alone. I know you probably are already doing that but I have to say it, in case.
Hopefully you will find a shelter or rescue that can help you,
I wish I could be more helpful
