how old is my orphaned puppy...what is right for him?

I just rescued a cocker spaniel yesterday. I am not sure of its age, when i look at its gums you could see its teeth but they have not come out yet. It cries a lot. I am feeding it puppy weaning food, but seems like if it might not enjoy it much.People tell me it might be four weeks old, I think it might be younger.

Thank your for rescuing it.  I think your are right.  By 4 weeks it should have its teeth and be ready to eat puppy chow softened with water.  You may need to go to milk replacer in a bottle.  Cows' milk isn't right for puppies.  

You need more help than I can give you.  See if your local library has a books that will help.
