My dog may be pregnant...

Our dog recently went into heat and we caught a German Shepard in the back yard the second day of her being in heat, the next day he came back with a friend. We didn't see them do anything,but we are not positive they didn't either. We have a 85lb Black Lab that was hiding under the porch once we realized that the dog had gotten into the back yard so I don't know if anything happened for sure or not. I do know that her boobs look funny now, even swollen I guess but we don't know where to go from here. Can a German Shepard get a 12lb dog pregnant?? That may be a dumb question but we didn't really think it was possible. I guess we didnt think physically it was possible for them to "do it". Please, any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you would be surprised how easily a very large dog can get a very small dog bred. They are very determined that way.

I highly suggest spaying her and not taking the risk- if she IS pregnant, trying to have the litter with such a big size difference can kill her. I would say, 80% chance it would kill her without an emergancy c-section, maybe more if this is her first litter.

Please spay her!
