hello, i got a female dotson about a week ago. my dad picked her out for me and to be honest i never would have picked a dotson (not that i dont like them, im just not familiar with the breed) but i absolutly love her and i was wondering if you could tell me some of the history of the dotson breed.

Since you've asked, the breed of dog you now own is called a Dachshund. Dachshunds originated in Germany and the name is German. Therefore, the "ch" is pronounced as a hard "k" sound. For that reason the breed's nick-name is called a "Doxie". In English the name Dachshund literally means "badger dog".
