Lhasa Apso Limping

Question
My 5 year old female lhasa apso has been limping all last night and today.  Now she will not put her right rear leg on the ground at all.  Have felt around her leg and hip for a reaction and got none. She done this a month back for a day and stopped.  Getting worried - will whimper once every while bit not acting in pain.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Kelly,

Thank you for writing to me about your Lhasa apso.  I am sorry to hear that she's in pain and limping.  It may be that the injury last month weakened a muscle or ligament and now just the slightest exertion will continue to cause discomfort.  It's always best to have your vet examine your dog when there is this kind of repeated injury.

I wish you the best of luck.
