My dog has been bitten

Question
My dog (Pug) just got bitten by a (pit bull, I believe).  His ear has been punctured.  Looks like the bleeding is slowing down.  What should I do?

I did clean it with warm water.  I'm thinking about putting hydrogen Peroxide on the wound as well as putting neosporin.

Answer
Neosporin is safe in small amounts--as long as he can't lick it off(which he won't be able to on a area like his ear)

Make sure the bleeding stops completely. Pugs are small dogs, and losing a lot of blood could be seriously dangerous.
You should also make sure the dog wasn't rabid or otherwise infectious.

If the wound doesn't become infected, and your dog eats and drinks regularly, you should be alright. Make sure he's not acting lethargic, and that his stool is normal. If he has any foam or a lot of drool around his mouth, you should take him to a vet immediately.

You could phone a vet and explain what's happened. Ask them if there would be any immediate concern, and ask them for a price check on what it would be to deal with something like this. They might be able to even give you over-the-phone advice.

Hope things work out for you....
