Whats wrong with my chihuahua

My toy chihuahua is 2 human years old, and he was sleeping next to me on the couch and suddenly woke up and started continuously growling and whimpering and his legs spread far apart and he started peeing then he started pooping and he was still whimpering and growling for about 2-3 minutes. Whats wrong with him? this is the first time this has happened.

Thank you for writing to me about your sweet chihuahua.  It's very hard to tell exactly what happened but it could have very likely been a seizure.  I would strongly urge you to get him to your vet as soon as possible for an exam and testing.  If you can manage it, I might try bringing him to a neurologist but have your vet examine him first, including doing a full blood panel.  

Things like acupuncture and fish oil supplements, plus an all natural high protein diet (no grains can be very helpful for seizures.

ps - I just got a second opinion from an associate who specializes in Chihuahuas and she confirmed..seizure.  Please bring your dog to the vet as soon as you can.
