my dogs food

hi! i have a shih tzu and his skin seems so irritated all the time... hes currently on Beneful and taking vitamins for healthy skin. but our groomer tells us skin issues are common in his breed of dog...even if this is true i would really like to know what brand of dog food is best for his allergy prone skin health wise?

It is hard to say what might work better than what you are feeding.  If you are feeding a chicken based chow, you could try a lamb or beef one.  It might be better to try a different brand too such as Iams or Science Diet.  Some of the more expensive brands are better for allergies if they have fewer ingredients.  The dog chow world is full of false claims about better ingredients.

The vet can do tests to pin point the problem, but they are expensive.
