Innova Evo for puppy of 10 months; dog food innova evo;

QUESTION: Hello,

My Golden (10 months) is 10 months old. He is on Innova Adult dog food (Large Bites) Red Meat formula. Can I switch to the EVO version even though he has two months to go before he is adult?

Hello Ray, Sure you can place her on the EVO ( grain-free) now.  AS long as she is healthy you can do this switch..

If you want to add some x-ray nutrition - give him 1-2 cooked eggs 2-3 x per week.  ( you can add a little bit of cheese to the eggs for taste.

QUESTION: Thanks.

The reason why I asked is because Sammy is on Innova Adult Large Bites Red Meat formula. I ordered it in the same store I always order it, however, they made a error and send me the EVO version instead. I called them and they were extremely sorry and now they sending me the correct food. It should arrived Monday. Now Am I going to do? Either he starve to death or I give him EVO. I have been giving EVO for the past 2 days. However, he is getting very soft stool (today a little diarrhea). I am not surprise. One suppose to switch slowly. But I had no other choice.

I talked to a store rep and they said just give EVO (half what the Box said) and give cooked rice (That should harden the stool) until his food comes. I bought brown rice instead. I gave 2/3 today with his food. Let's see what happen when he poop later on. Do you have anything to add? I am adding pumpkin too (2 Teaspoons).

Hi Ray - Well, the pet store gave you good advice but I would have used the white rice rather than the brown ( brown has more fiber)....
Sure - the pumpkin was a good choice too...
No, nothing to add at this point.
Yes, food change overs should take 2 weeks or more ( as you know)
