Measuring height of toy poodle

Question
I would like to know if you have a visual aid you could email me on exactly how to measure the height of my toy poodle. I want to be sure I measure not to high or to low. I am not sure where the highest point of the shoulder is and if I had a visual aid that would be great.
Thanks for your aadvice,
Rachel

Answer
Hello Rachel,
I don't have a visual aide that I can show you, but if you will lay something flat on your dogs shoulder blades (such as a Ruler) and then use a yardstick that goes down the back side of the leg, it will show you how tall your dog is.  The height standard for a Toy Poodle is anything under 10" at the shoulder.
When you lay the ruler across the shoulder blades, it should lay flat.  You might have a friend or buddy help hold your dog still so he/she doesn't move and throw off your reading.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions about this or other Poodle questions in general, please feel free to ask.
