Question
A couple of months ago my two females started getting into it. One of course is a pit and the other a chow mix. The chow (spayed) started becoming aggressive to the pit (not spayed) to the point where she couldn't take it anymore and lashed out. Generally they would get along but when they got too excited or jealous they would start fighting. It is now to the point that I can not keep them in the same room together and this has been since May. They are both like my children and I definitely do not want to give either of them up. The mixed dog was a stray I brought home so worst case senario she would have to go first. Is there anything that can be done at this point to bring the two together and get themselves straightened out or is it too late. Also, I have a male pit, who when they would fight, would only go after the female pit. They are like best friends so that I don't understand. Please help!!!

Answer
I haven't dealt with this personally. I would definatly spay your female pit and if your male isn't nuetered, do that right away. Monitor ALL play time. Watch and figure out what the trigger is, then take the trigger away. If they are fighting over a toy, take the toy away and put them both in time out. If that doesn't help, I would check with a dog trainer that specializes in pit bull breeds
