Question
hello I have a 10 month year old female and Im concerned about her size. She has always had purinas specialty food like benefull but I have to buy purina puppy chow sometimes because its affordable.she stands barely 1 foot stomach to floor and less than 30 inches foot to paw, fully sprawled out and maybe about 60lbs .Her head is also kinda of small.I know she is a pure bread, she is a rednose/brindle (rednose devil) and was wondering if she will have another growth spurt and if purina was the wrong choice for my pup.I heard that Eukanuba or iams is the best way to go.I was wondering if you knew any natural or specialty foods to get her as big as possible

Answer
Pitbulls are not supposed to be really big dogs. If you check the breed standards for the UKC or ADBA, you will see that they are actually meant to be of a smaller, leaner build...and their heads aren't supposed to be super huge, either.

As far as her food goes...Beneful is pretty much crap in a bag, in my opinion. And I am not saying that to be rude or to be snippy...I really do think Beneful is a crappy food with almost no nutritional value whatsoever. Personally, I am not a big fan of any Purina, Eukanuba, or Iams foods. They are all made out of "filler" ingredients and are more likely to make your dog fat than healthy.

I don't recommend you feed her anything with the intention of making her "big". She isn't supposed to be a big, bulky dog. Making her that way will lead to health problems later on in life.

If you want to feed her something different to ensure that she is healthy, try either Timberwolf (which is what I use), Dick Van Patten's, ...something like that.
