eating something other than food

My "grandpup" lab opened a bag of rock salt and I believe probably ate at least a little bit ofit. My son says Nino's nose is a bit scratched so that makes sense now - also he had a very loose bowel movement in his cage today. Will the rock salt harm him?

Salt usually is good for the dog, but to much may be harmful.  Just to be sure, since you dont know the exact ammount he ate, and i dont know th age and size of the dog. I feel the best thing to do would be to contact your vet.
