Question
Hi,

My 7 month old lab is constantly biting on my hands and clothes whenever I come out to play with him. I've been trying to make him stop this for the past few months, but nothing is working. Do you have any suggestions?

I am feeding him three times a day dry food mixed with canned food. Do you think that I should lower this amount? Which foods do you recommend?

Answer
Helo Lazar and thank you for your questions,

Puppies bite its normal my labrador retreiver never bit me once as a puppy thou which was sort of weird since my other puppies had nibbled my fingers/wrists sometimes. You can simply tell him 'No' in a loud and deep voice...the "punishment voice" and stick one of his toys in his mouth, this worked wonders for me with my jack russell terrier if he was biting me or furniture/bed covers ect... I'd say no stick a toy in his mouth and all would be well. For food I reccomend feeding what he will eat two or three times a day, Puppies can't get anough really is what I always say so until he's done growing at around 14/15 months of age give him pupy foods, you can cut down amounts after one year thou or then he might get fat. I reccomend top choie... Authority from petsmart it is made only for petsmart stores so if you don't have a petsmart in your town it wont do any good. Tecnical, Neutreance, Nutro(any of the three types), Pro pla, bil-jack, peddigree, pruina one and ourina, the last three are the cheapest you'd ever want to go because any grocery store brands or 'ol'roy' are almost always lacking meat and are filled with fillers/corn/wheat that the dog doesnt need. Also if you feed a high quaility food the dog will eat less and poop less if you feed cheaper foods the dog will need more to fill its nutricin requirments and will poop alot more. I hope this helps if you have any further questions feel free to ask.
