Glass door problems

Question
Hello and first of all I would like to thank you for your time. I have a few questions if you don't mind. I have 2 labs: a 2 yr old male and a 15 week old female. My male gets so excited when we get home he jumps on my sliding glass door(with all his 80lbs) we are currently renting the house that we are in so this is a serious problem. The door is scratched beyond fixing and I really don't want him to hurt himself if it breaks. How do I break this behavior?

Now the second question. My male is constantly mounting my female. she is only 15 weeks old so I don't want him to hurt or impregnate her in any way. do I have anything to worry about?

Thanks
Robert D

Answer
Here  is your main problem: excersice, dicipline, then
AFFECTION: (WITH NO VERBAL SOUND, PERFERABLY). Walk her, well, both of them, but I'm just going to use the word her, twice a day, at least 30 minutes each time. If you must skip a walk, replace it with a treadmile, but don't leave your dog alone on the treadmile and leave the house, it's dangerous. I recommend the book " Cesars Way" by Cesar Millan. You can get it @ Amazon.com. This is definately the book for you, and I recommend it to all dog owners, if you want your dog to live a healthy, happy life.

Never let her walk ahead of you. She is permitted to walk beside you or behind you, but never in fron, as this is a sign of dominance. If you let your dog walk in front of you, ever, not just on walks, you're telling her she is the leader. Unless of course you give her permission. Never let her jump on you either ( Another sign of dominance). If she ever does anything you don't approve of, lay out a flat hand, curl your fingers a little bit, and bump her firmly, but not too hard. Follow it with a firm "chtttt". This is like a dog nip, which does not hurt her in anyway, but just gets her attention and startles her. It tells the dog this behavior is not allowed. Hope this helped!!!
