Graying Muzzle

We have a 3 year old chocolate lab whose muzzle area is turning gray - any idea as to why this is occurring?  He is a fairly high-strung alpha male - besides constantly establishing dominance with him, would neutering help?  Thanks for your assistance.

Three years seems young to be graying. What are you feeding him?  Most dogs will do fine most of their calories come from a commercial dog chow.  

I doubt neutering him will help the graying.  It may help calm him down a little.  It also reduces the chances of cancer later in life.
