Question
Please  could  you advise  me  as  to   what  is  the  ideal  weight  for  a  5  year  old  male  Jack  Russell  terrier

Answer
Hello Gordon,

It really depends on the dog's height. If you have a very tall Parsons the weight would be very different than that of a short legged Jack.  The "typical" range is between 10 to 15 pounds.
Jack Russells have a tendency to become overweight especially if they are not on a regular exercise schedule, but less is always best. When looking at the dogs side view you should see the chest lower than the stomach. Hope this helps!
