Question
hi,

I wonder if you can help, i want to monitor and know if my sibe is of a healthy weight but cant find a guide anywhere - he is 8 months at the moment and weighs 21kg.  Any advice would be greatly apreciated.  I know they should be between 20 and 27kg fully grown - if this is the case when will my boy stop growing??

Answer
The best way to check for a healthy weight is to check for a waist line (you should see a pronounced waist from the rib cage into the rear legs/hips), and you should also be able easily feel the ribs without seeing them (taking into account perhaps fighting through the thick Siberian fur).  The other thing to take into account is height, as a taller Sibe should weigh more.  Most males are 21-23" or so measured to the shoulder, so take that into account when you are looking at the weight range.  Finally, most dogs usually are done growing by 12 months or so of age, and may spend a few months filling out and are usually done by 18-24 months at a settled adult weight.
