sleep habits

we just adopted a 3 year old male golden retriever about 1 week ago. he doesn't sleep more than a few hours a nite. what can we do.


Answer
You might get back with the former owners and see if they had the problem, and how they coped.  If that doesn't help, spend every minute you can scrape up exercising him.  If you are going to work him in the heat, keep him cool.  Likely he enjoys swimming.  If an hour of fetching sticks from the river or pond doesn't do it, try 2-3.
