Feed for golden retriever puppy

Question
I have a golden female puppy 2.5 months old. Currently, I give her 4 feeds - 7am, 10:30am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm. I just switched her over to royal canin, and based on the amounts suggested, I find that she isn't hungry for all feeds any more. Can you please tell me what the ideal feed timings should be, and what a balanced diet would be?

Answer
I would phase the 7 PM feeding out over the next week, and then in another week start phasing the 10:30 feeding out.  After 6 months, you can cut back to one meal.

The surest way to give a dog the complete and balanced diet it needs is to stick to a commercial dog chow and no more than token amounts of anything else.  I am no big fan of the premium chows, but the Royal Canin may be as good as anything else.  I would switch to adult chow at 4 months to slow growth giving the developing joints more time before bearing the full adult size.  After genetics, that and keeping the puppy lean, are the most important factors in hip dysphasia.  I am a little concerned about her not eating.  The most common cause is overfeeding.  Evaluate her as in this link, http://www.longliveyourdog.com/twoplus/RateYourDog.aspx  If she is too heavy, cut back a little.
