mixed pup

I've been looking to adopt a puppy. I came across one that is white lab mixed with german shepard and i was curious as to what the characteristics may be of the pup as it gets older? Is this a good dog to have with a family of children? It is a male and 7wks old.

Hi Crystal,  Labs are hyper, and so are some shepherds genetically (american lineage more than german lineage), so you could be seeing a very hyper dog.  Labs like to retrieve, shepherds like to herd, so you could have very strong instincts in those areas.  Otherwise, it is not a bad mix for a family dog.  The biggest problem you will have is it knocking over the children as it grows, so you will want to train him young so you and the children have control over him before he gets too big.  Hope this helps,
