Ears not up yet

Question
I have a 7 month old GS Mail whose ears are not up all the time.  My breeder taped them but the wife did not leave it on long enough and took the tape and rollers off.  Where can I find instructions on the proper taping and when to do.  His diet is IAMS Smart Puppy with a little bit of canned puppy.

Answer
Dumping the puppy chow could be more effective than taping.  It has excessive calcium in it interfering with the body's ability to use the calcium to build sturdy joints.  It also promotes too fast of growth.  I don't know about the ears, but an early switch to adult chow is better for the hips.  I base my opinion on the successful practice I see a large dog guide school using.  Likely they breed more Shepherds than your breeder and x-ray every one at a year.  Those not rated OFA good or better are dropped from the program.  They have all their dogs on adult chow at 4 months.  I only remember seeing one GSD in the program whose ears weren't up by 7 months.  Can't help on the taping.  The school never does it.
