10 week old German Shepherd, HELP!

I bought a 10 week old solid black German Shepherd, I already love her! She chases my cats, she will not listen to anything I ask her, and she bites.Iam sure glad she is so cute, or I might regret getting her.Please any advice you can offer, I will sure give it a try.the only things I have a problem with is hitting her or getting rid of her, she is a part of our family now. Thank you.

Hi Stephanie,  First use a spray bottle filled with water and spray her everytime she chases the cats.  Tell her "no" when you spray her.  She is a GSD, and they are herding dogs, that is why she is chasing the cats.  They also have very strong prey drive, which could also be fueling the chasing of the cats.  The biting is play biting due to her age.  When she bites, you need to pull her upper lip down over her teeth and push it back up against her teeth so that it pinches.  What she will associate is that everytime she bites it will pinch.    

You need to get her started on obedience training as soon as possible.  This is the perfect age to get her started.  Hope this helps,
