German Shephard Ears

My Shepherd is now 19 months old and his right ear has a crease and it will not stand up at times. He really looks funny. How much is the surgery for his ear and do you recommend it? thanks, Phil

Your dog is too old for the ear to straighten out with taping.  I couldn't say how much surgery would cost but my feeling is that you may not be able to find a vet to do it.  It is not a common surgery, so his ear might turn out worse.  Most vets will not do this type of surgery as it is purely cosmetic.  I am sure you love your dog, so think of it as a quirk in his appearance and go have fun with him!
