very old GS mix

my poor shepard was rescued 12 years ago from abuse,she is approx.13 years,she had just hed pups and was very malnurished when i got her.over the years shes been a great dog,recently although she will urinate when she sleeps,also poop uncontrollably,thank goodess its hard.she doesnt like it and its obviously uncontrollable, also her tail is always between her legs,i feed her royal canine for shephards,she is also no longer patient with strange kids,if they even touch one of our children she'll giv quite a warning.this is all in the past year,she hates the vet.is this just old age or what?

Fortunately my 12 year old Lab likes the vet.  Been seeing a lot of him this year with good results until the last few times.  I would subject her to one more visit.  The vet might find something that would perk her up for a few more years.  I had a fatty tumor removed from my Lab a couple of years ago, and for a while, she was much livelier.  Aging is one of the toughest parts of dog ownership.
