German Shepard Puppy Ears

Question
HI,
My GSP is 21 weeks old.  She had a cyst removed on her left ear at 7 weeks old.  She is finishing teething now.  Her right ear (nonsurgical) has flopped up and down during teething but is completely up.  Her left surgical ear has never come up and flops outward almost to make an "L" out of her ears on her head.  I read your other answers about this and see that we are approaching 8 months limit. Should I be concerned yet at 5 1/2 months old and never up?  Also, how do I tape the ear.  My vet put a styrofoam tube in her ear canal and taped it but she couldn't tolerate it.  IS there a way just to tape it?  Thanks

Answer
Hi Cindy, get a perm (sponge) roller and use it instead of the styrofoam tube.  Also, you need skin glue to put the roller in.  First though I would find out from the vet that did the surgery if they removed any cartlidge from the ear or stitched the skin too tight, because if they did, you might not be able to fix the ear.  Hope this helps,

Dawn
