Question1 month ago i got a pom from a pet rescue. she had the dog 8 months and was never able to get her to come out of hiding except to eat. she does not like to be held. she keeps her head hid. when you pick her up she shakes really bad. i've tried really hard to love her. she acts like she has been mistreated. what do you think i can do to make her happy.
AnswerI have rescued pets many times and it takes months to turn
a shy disposition around. Always give her treats when she
does what you want her to and just give her time to realize
she is in a new home.
I put a towel on my bed and let the dog sleep with me for a few hours and usually they will relax during this time
and get use to someone being besides them.
