Tail clipping

Question
What is the rationale for clipping Cocker Spaniels' tails when they are just a few days old?

Answer
Steve,
As far as I know, tail docking is just for appearance sake. Many people won't buy a Cocker that hasn't had the tail docked, because they don't look like the true Cocker Spaniel with a long fanned tail. Of course, it's a personal decision as to whether you want to do it or not, but if you were breeding pups, I would suggest to get them professionally docked since that's the "look" people pay money for.
Hope this answers your question!
